Origin of TennistarzThis group was started with few tennis admirers during the fall season in the year 2008.
Initially this team focused much on USTA tournaments and indoor tennis during fall and winter season. As the thrist to win more USTA tournaments augmented , the members started getting closer. Lawrence Rajan the founder of google groups (Tennistarz) integrated these tennis enthusiasts through a single channel. The members gradually started to share their tennis experience and knowledge through frequent mails to this group. Interest for this recreational activity sprung many crazy ideas within the members to make this sport more enjoyable and goodish.
It is important for each one of us to know three people , who have worked behind the scene day and night.The common motive of the following personalities were to keep us occupied with tennis throughout the year.
Venkat Srinivasan(Trailblazer)He has converted many spectators to great tennis players. He is the discoverer of Challenge Ladder Spreadsheet and TennisEngine.
Perfect person to approach for your performance feedback in tennis, he will accurately let you know your strengths and weakness. Any issues with tennisengine login or if you don't find any partner for doubles tournament, just drop him a mail. Even after sharing many tennis tips , he manages to be top one player in this group. Novice or expert no matter what your level is, he plays with same level of enthusiasm against any of his opponent.
Jeen Geevar(Rule Master)In doubles match,let us consider you completed the first set in Court X today and are planning to continue the second set in Court Y tomorrow, Do you know if it is possible for you to change courts after each set?
Any such questions related to rules can be directed to Jeen. He knows every single rule of USTA.
Jeen is the creator of our tennistarz site. He shares every bit of tennis knowledge with this group. The idea of blogging anything related to tennis was coined by him. He is an egalitarian who emphasis equal opportunities for women players in tennis.
Shrinivas Venkat(Unpaid coach)Like father, Like son. He is the youngest player in this group. He updates the scores for each singles/doubles match in the tournaments draw spreadsheet. He keenly watches how each of us play and suggests better approach for our shots. Recommended coach for any new joiner in this group.He is also shouldering the responsibility to add new members in TennisEngine site.
